Our take written by Chili Times
The Irving Elks PER CCO is a CASI cook-off on N Britain Rd. in Irving, benefiting Irving Elks #2334 Charities. On Friday evening the lodge hosts a Christmas party for cooks with turkey, ham and dressing; cooks bring a side dish, and a gift if they join the exchange. The listing also asks for canned goods, non-perishable items or cash for Irving Crisis Ministries.
CASI chili costs $30 with a 1pm turn-in and Chili Grind meat. Jackpot beans cost $10 and turn in at noon, paying three places, and an Elks division is free for CASI cooks or $15 otherwise. Saturday breakfast is by donation, burger baskets are available for lunch, and hookups are limited and first come, first served.
