John Orf and Georgia Horner Memorial cook-offs
Sat, Jan 9, 2027 and Sun, Jan 10, 2027 · Converse, TX · CASI-sanctioned
Our take written by Chili Times
The American Legion post at 326 Legion Dr. in Converse hosts two CASI cook-offs on consecutive days. The John Orf Memorial on Saturday benefits the post's charities and turns in at 2pm; the Georgia Horner Memorial Cookoff on Sunday benefits Auxiliary Programs and turns in at 1pm. Both days cost $25.00, and the meat requirement is open.
There is a large area for RV parking and a pavilion to cook under. Breakfast and burgers are available, the post sells chicken fried steak dinners on Friday, and a silent auction runs Saturday from 11 AM until the announcement.
