Elks Teaching Kids to Cook and Football Sunday cook-offs
Sat, Jan 30, 2027 and Sun, Jan 31, 2027 · Kemah, TX · CASI-sanctioned
Our take written by Chili Times
Two CASI cook-offs share 623 Daniel Dror Ave in Kemah on consecutive days, both $30.00 with Chili Grind meat. Elks Teaching Kids to Cook on Saturday uses a grant the Clear Lake Lodge 2322 received to teach local youth to cook chili, with equipment, meat and spices provided to the kids. The kids turn in at 1:00 PM, the adult cook-off turns in at 2pm, and it benefits Elks Charities.
Champioship Football Sunday turns in at 1:00 PM, with its charity listed as TBD. On both days cooking moves inside in bad weather.
Our plain-language reading of the sanctioning body's listing quoted on this page. It adds no facts of its own.

For visitors
The Clear Lake Lodge 2322 received a grant from the national office that provides funds to teach the youth in the area a skill to cook chili.
Through this grant the kids will receive all the required equipment as well as meat and spices to cook for their families.
This event has worked great in the past with grilling so we expect to have a good turn out.
The kids turn in time will be 1:00 PM.
We are promoting this event as having the kids learn from CASI cooks, if you were able to make it to Terlingua in 2026 please where your competition shirt.
The adult cook off will be as normal and we can cook inside if there is inclement weather.
